Veterinarian Internship Program

The veterinarian has his small clinic in the central parts of Quito, close to the touristic area and here he works mostly with smaller animals like cats and dogs that are people´s pets. Sometimes when animals might be sick and are hard to move the veterinarian makes house calls to help out.

In the small clinic the veterinarian helps with a lot of things like examinations, smaller surgery, vaccination, diet consulting, health control etc and sometimes animals might have to stay overnight for observations. In case of something more complicated they might have to move the animal to a bigger clinic where they have the facilities for this.

As the veterinarian also is the chief veterinarian for a Zoo/animal rescue center, works for other animal welfare organizations as well as he helps and consult the police that control trafficked animals he also travels around in the country from time to time.
