Activities In School

The classes in our school are basically one-on-one with the teacher in the classroom but students also will have the chance to do some activities. The activities are important as many students have a hard time to concentrate for several hours and find it refreshing to have some classes on walking foot while practicing conversation. During some of these activities the students might have to cover the cost for public transportation or entrances depending on what they want to do.

What students prefer most is to explore Quito while learning Spanish with their teachers. During their classes they can together with their teacher for example visit local museums, the old town, the equator monument or just have a coffee in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Another activity we can help the students with is to have some salsa classes in our school. If the students want to try this we gladly help with this but as some study in the morning and some in the afternoon it means that some sometimes have to take part of this during class hours.

We also arrange cooking classes as part of the Spanish classes in our school together with the teachers. As with salsa classes this takes place during the morning or afternoon so some students might have to take part of this during their class hours and normally the students get for homework to find and buy one or two ingredients. For this activity we need 5 or more students.

Our Teachers

Puka Inti´s experienced teaching staff are sensitive to student's individual needs and abilities. Our Spanish teachers are all trained, native speakers with an exceptional amount of patience, so even the most nervous student feels comfortable. Our students feel relaxed because our teachers make them feel at ease when using the language. We use a variety of teaching methods and aids, all of which are dynamic and fun, and mean that you can actually communicate in Spanish rather than just knowing a few standard phrases.

Where to Study

We can upon request arrange Spanish classes in different parts of Ecuador for volunteers, groups and interns that don't want to stay in Quito. Depending on the location we will arrange a local teacher or if not possible one of our teachers from Quito will accompany the participant to the destination of choice.

Amongst some of the locations we can help arrange Spanish classes are:

-Quito
-Mindo
-Otavalo
-Puerto Ayora, Galapagos Islands
-Puerto Villamil, Galapagos Islands
-Yarina Lodge, Amazonas

We can now also help arranging Spanish classes with one of our teachers through Skype for those who like to start before arriving to Quito or who don't have time to study while in Ecuador. For further information about this please contact us and we can work out a schedule that works best for both the student and the teacher.
