The placement takes place in Quito the capital city where the intern will be working in a
company side by side with a group of mechanic engineers in the production, design and
manufacture of engines, pumps, generators etc.
Since Ecuador is a country where the oil industry is the main income, we have interns working in a company with their operation center in the Amazon jungle where the oil industry takes place.
Interns will work with the rest of the staff in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems and they will have their hands on experience depending on their knowledge as well as what the company is working with.
In the case the intern works in a company that has the center of operation in the Amazon jungle they will have to maybe frequently go there where they for example might work in industries like oil fields with maintenance or service etc.
The project takes place in Quito.
Interns work from Monday to Friday from about 08:00 to 17:00 with a break for lunch.
Though Spanish level and experience and/or education within the field are important personality is also something that judges what they will get out of their experience.
An open person that shows interest and initiative will have a good experience.
Initiative is important as the staff often takes this as a sign of interest so they will most lightly get into their tasks faster.
It takes normally about a week to get into work and for some it even takes up to two weeks before they start to understand their tasks and how things work.
