Our families

Entry photo example It is very important to us that our students are happy in their accommodation. Our home stay program is a very important part of your overall language experience. During the stay in Ecuador, students, intern and volunteers will live with selected Ecuadorian families which will provide comfortable single room (double room in the Galapagos Islands, three daily meals (full board).
Our interns and volunteers have the unique opportunity to experience the daily life of Ecuadorian people, learning about the culture while improving their Spanish skills. Participants will be met with typical Latin America cordiality and openness.

All of our host families have been carefully selected by our staff and our selection process assures that all our students, interns and volunteers will have a comfortable and pleasant stay in Ecuador. Our philosophy here is that people who come to Ecuador from other countries and choose to live with a family do so for a reason: to experience the unique Latin culture of Ecuador and to learn Spanish.

Why host families

Except for the local coordinator the families are the extra security and help if something happens. If the participants get sick the family is close to look after them, make sure they eat right and when they go on weekend excursions to discover Ecuador they will be waiting for them. The families have time after time shown to be the fastest way for us to get indications on that they need help as participants don't always realize when its time to see a doctor about a traveler stomach or how to confirm the departure flight back home in Spanish.

Language

As most people in Ecuador the families don't speak English except for the children in some cases but they all prefer their native language. This is another reason why its a great idea to live with a family as participants are here to learn Spanish. Ecuadorians love to talk and they can go on for hours so participant have a great chance to practice as much as they like while eating, helping out in the kitchen, taking a coffee etc. Its all up to the participants how much they will learn.
