Interns Role
In the Galapagos Islands interns will work with a lot of small things as the center is smaller. They will for example help
to take care of visitors that arrives and specially foreigners as nobody at the center speak English and they often help to
explain what they can offer visitors, show them around and help serving food. Interns also help with the day to day tasks that
includes making sure that the area is clean, feed the giant tortoises, help out in the agriculture part and any ongoing
ideas they have at the time but they can also come with their own ideas about making signs for visitors or maybe help
translating information from Spanish to English that can help them at the center.
At the Amazon project interns will be based at the office in town where they will help with information for visitors. As
nobody here speaks good English they can help to translate information, maybe approve the homepage, talk to foreign tourists that
come is or even try to contact agency´s in other parts or countries to offer what they have.
Interns might also visit the different locations and communities where they offer activities and visits to help improve the
programs or come with new ideas on what to offer. As a foreigner they might have better ideas on how or what tourists might
want and they can also help with information that might be missing or only in Spanish.
